Notes:
Akiko’s spine has a condition called Transitional Vertebra, where the dog has a malformed vertebra at the end of the spine. She is not physically affected by this condition and has no orthopaedic changes (hip dysplasia, spondylitis, osteoarthritis). After this discovery, Ôjin was checked for the condition and is not affected.
Both Ôjin’s breeder and Akiko’s breeder were made aware and reviewed their dog‘s spinal x-rays too. The model of inheritance is unknown in the condition so the risk to breed is worth taking to help us further understand.
